Brighton Winter Comp 2020

We are very excited to announce that we will be running our annual Winter Comp again this year!!!
Due to the ongoing pandemic we have had to make a few changes to the format of the competition to protect everyone involved.

Nonetheless it's gong to be a cracker!
This year the competition will only be on the ropes so there will be no bouldering as part of the event.

Setting Team for the qualifiers:
Max Ayrton + Henning Muller

Categories for the junior competitors will be the same as that of the national competitions.

In addition to the junior categories, we have also created an 'athlete category' for any junior or young adult climbers who compete at a high level and are looking for some seriously tough routes and fierce competition.

We will as usual also have an adult and a masters category.

Cat E = 2011 + 2012 (top-rope)
Cat D = 2009 + 2010 (top-rope)
Cat C = 2007 + 2008 (lead)
Cat B = 2005 + 2006 (lead)
Cat A = 2003 + 2004 (lead)
Athlete = ≥2002 (lead)
Adults = 18yrs - 39yrs (lead)
Masters = 40yrs+ (lead)

Rough grades for each category to be published soon...

Qualifiers will run from Saturday 10th October until Sunday 18th October.
Finals date Saturday 28th November from 11:30am

To enter the comp:
1. Book a Qualifier comp slot online here (limited comp slots each day)

2. Turn up on the day and get your scorecard from reception

3. Climb the routes and hand your scorecard back to us before you leave

4. Finalists to be announced on Monday 19th October

Cost is £10 plus normal entry and BYOB ("bring your own belayer").
All routes to be done in one sitting.
