Acknowledgement of Risk.
Before climbing, or supervising a climber at High Sports, we will need you to watch our Boulder Safety Video and complete an Acknowledgment of Risk (AOR) form. There are different Acknowledgment of Risk forms depending on how you, or the climber, are planning on using the centre.
Please watch the Boulder Safety Video below and then fill out the forms (listed below the video) relevant to you.
-

Independent Climbers
This form is for all climbers who are wishing to use the centre without an instructor.
During the process, you will be asked a number of questions regarding your competency. Please answer these honestly as you will be tested when you arrive.
If this is your first time bouldering, you will be able to answer the test questions after having watched the Boulder Safety video above.
-

Instructed Activity
All participants taking part in an instructed activity will need to complete an instructed activity acknowledgement of risk form.
This includes those that attend our NICAS and Wild Climbers Kids Clubs.
This form will need to be filled out by a parent or guardian if participant is under 18.
-

Novice Supervision Form
If you are supervising any juniors or novice adult climbers then a Novice Supervision Form must be completed in addition to the relevant climber registration form (Climber or Junior Reg Form).
An adult who has passed the safety test may supervise up to 2 novice/junior climbers. Whilst supervising your own climbing will be restricted unless you have another competent climber with you.
-

Aged 16 - 17
Juniors aged between 16 - 17 who are just wanting to boulder can do so without having to pass the Youth Climbing Assessment.
However, they must have a completed Competent Junior Acknowledgement of Risk form filled in by a parent or legal guardian.
